Founded in 1868,Rokusei started as a caterer.
Their specialty is “Teoke bento” made by Seiji Nakagawa, a living national treasure.
They also operate a souffle shop, so I have an innovative image of them.

I recommend Rokusei to the following people
People who like strong flavours (most people think that Kyoto cuisine is typically of delicate flavors, but Rokusei has many strong flavors.)
People who want to enjoy traditional cuisine casually.
Rokusei appearance
Beyond a lantern tow, there is Shishi Odoshi.
The other side of the garden is “Souffle & Cafe Corner Tea Garden” of Rokumori
Rokusei cuisine
When I got to my seat, I had black bean tea.
The aroma of the black bean tea made me relaxed.
I received “Teoke bento and Hitoshina” (It came 4,212 yen tax included and service excluded).
The “hitoshina” is selected from the following.
・Kamo nasu Dengaku (dengaku: tofu or eggplant etc is skewered, grill and top with miso.)
・Sweetfish fried(tempura)
・Sashimi
・Usubari Yuba(a kind of Yuba cuisine)
・Today’s dessert assorted
Teoke bento, rice bowl, red soup (with yuba), pickled pickles.
Rice changes according to the season.
This time there was bamboo shooots in the rice.
I chose Usubari Yuba.
My companion chose small sweetfish fried(tempura).
Rokusei Gastronomy Club Member’s Comments
We were in a large hall and ordered a lunch box hmmm.
Even if they don’t serve food one by one, it’s unconvincing to pay a service fee,
As a Japanese without the concept of chips.
The flavor was strong that I didn’t like it.
Sainara(See you).
